Just bought a'94 Bronco, great condition but needs some work, promarily a bad tailgate (bronco big suprise here!!)- will need major attention in the spring. Love to hear any sources for a new tailgate.
Heard there are fiberglass ones available - anyone try them yet.
Also would love to find a Eddie Bauer ceiling console -
Look at the album I made when I rebuilt a '96 t/g:

It may help you identify the malfunction.
Many Fords used that console, so search the junkyards.
My problem with the tailgate is simple - rust. Bottom of the tailgate is rusted and I will need to replace the entire tailgate. Got a couple of estimates but they are high, may do myself
I've installed the JCWhitney skin on a friend's Bronco, and it seemed to be as high quality as OE. $250 plus shipping, but certainly a good t/g. On mine, I cleaned the inside thoroughly, coated it even MORE thoroughly with spray-on undercoating, and the replaced the 2 weatherbelts that wipe the glass with Ford parts. My rust pretty much stopped where it was, but I still swapped to that '96 t/g.
