6637 mod & Why U do CCV mod

Did my 6637 mod last night...took longer than i wanted but I took my time so would'nt screw anything up. ( I'm Real good at that ). Picked up a pc of 4 " ABS from Home Crapo and used it as my connection between filter and intake hose... workd great. While I had everything open I took a look at the intake hose and found a puddle of...... well sticky gunk around the CCV . This is why it's good to do CCV mod. It will be my next project . I also found A pine needle in the hose line.....luckely it was stuck in the puddle of gunk. That goes to show how crapy the stock airbox is ( by the way it was a KnN filter on there ) Turbo looked clean and no chips in the blades.... I can hear the turbo better but no droning sounds yet. I realy thought the turbo would be louder....mayby I just can't hear it cause my truck sound like a Harley w/ the Banks exhaust on it. Thanks for all the info from everyone . Cant see puddle in pic but it was pretty gunked up

Good deal... Check those hose clamps in a few days, put another turn or so on them. Every time my hood is raised, I pull on the filter (pretty hard too) to make sure the connections are tight. So far so good.

You want mo' wissel? When you have a free afternoon, pull the intercooler pipe that is just showing in that picture. The one with all the insulation on it. Pull the insulation off by hand, and then use a wire wheel bit in a drill to strip off the glue (that is a btch to get off!) and it will polish it at the time. And while you're in there it will be good to remove the boots and clean the oil off of them. And if that is not enough, remove the hood blanket insulation. I did last night and i dont know if i crimped my boost gauge line pulling the gauge out of the pod last night, but i can hear alot more whistle (mind you i have ww+ATS) before the gauge even moves.

One of the simplest yet very effective preventitive maintenance mod one can do. No more worrying about boots blowing off due to oil seepage.

Thumbs up

AngeliasDad... I could have sworn that your picture was a copy of mine above until I looked mine over again. I didn't quite have a "puddle" of gunk in mine tube, but you would be hard pressed to see that difference when looking at the two pictures. My CCV and in-tank mods are next on my list, followed pretty quickly by the Marinco outlet adapter for my block heater cord.

I like your filter cover...sweet job... I may have to work one out for myself. I got lucky on the zoodad mod... it was already done from the previouse owner. L8R A.
