Stacks

Hey, Im lookin at buyin a heavy duty and getting stacks, Now i gotta a question. I want the Mitre cut stacks and what do u do about the rain? I dont like rain caps so thats a no, and also what if someone desideds to be a smart A u know the rest, and sticks something down there? Im also thinking about drilling and taping a spot at the lowest point for draining the water out of the pipes. I also know that you can put coffie cans on there but i dont want to have to park it in a parking lot while its downpooring and have to put coffie cans on em. My luck i would forget lol. Thanks

if someone was to put something down the pipe, it will blow out once you start the engine.

i know, i have hit many people over the years with junk coming out of my stacks. luckily, most of the people that were hit were the smartazzes that put the crap in there in the first place.

Mike don't worry about water. The water can't get in the engine because the downpipe goes upwards about two feet. Even then its not going to happen. Drill a hole at the lowest point (mine is right in the end of the elbow) and the water drips out. It's never a bunch of water even in a heavy downpour. I've never had anyone put anything down in my stacks unauthorized.

i dont think that anyone can really jam anything to bad down a set of stacks like to mess up the motor of anything. unless they put like a hose in there and fill them up with water but who would do that. there was this kid in school that had a dodge ram with a cummins in it he had two big 5" stacks with the miter cut well some time during the day some one put a 1 pound bag of flour down each stack. he came out started the truck and man everything in the parking lot turned white it was one of the funniest thing i have ever seen. lol

i ain't sure on other things, but with 4 inch stacks, an empty Budweiser beer can will fly around 20 ft.
paper just flutters out,
paper coffee cups only go around 5 feet,
and packing peanuts look like snow.

Two liter soda bottles aren't large enough to "stuff" into the stacks. No where around here sells 3 liter bottles, or no one i know of can drink 6 liters of soda. Hah.

drill the drain and don't worry about the rest of it. I have run mine thru rain, ice and snow and no problems yet!
