Another tailgate question

My t/g is rusted out at the bottom, my question is can my power windo assembly and locking mechanisms still perform in this condition. The rod that connects to my handle does not have anything to bolt into in the botom of the t/g. I am planning on replacing the whole t/g soon, but for now can it be fixed?

thanks

Another tailgate question

There's not a rod on the handle that's SUPPOSED to be bolted to the bottom of the t/g, so that's fine. You'll only have problems if the whole internal brace is rusted free at the bottom and the regulator is swinging inside.
