Been having some heating issues with my furnace. Temp set to 69 wake up the other morning it was 59! Talking to folks they say change the thermostat so I did that last night. All seemed well until I got home tonight same thing happened. Fan is set to auto and continued to blow for 30 min after heat shut off blowing 59 degree air from register? Thermocouple? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Unit is a newer York 92% efficient. Can get any numbers needed. THANKS!!
Update: had old thermostat sitting by register a while ago and restarted furnace blowing 97 degree heat then noticed a drop went down stairs looked through glass only to see a red hot element and no flame. Finally reignited and heat again. 5min later no more heat went down stairs to see no red lit element and no flame turned heat back off and blower still going. Seems to be a gas supply problem?
Could be your High limit Switch.. If Plenum temps get too hot the safety locks out the gas valve, but Igniter will keep trying. usually tries to light 3 times then locks out..
Do you have Central Air ?.. Could be "A" Coil in plenum is plugged causing high temps throwing off your Limit safety ..
Have a look at your Exhaust\ Intake pipes outside see if they are blocked by Ice or snow.. Could be your Furnace is going off on the pressure switch .

Check you air filter and that nothing is blocking any of the air grills plus everything else cretepumper said..Since the blower is still running it does sound like a limit problem but I work better with the furnace in front of me..LOL..
