Part out or sell?

Guys,

I just aquired a 97 F150 from work. It was one of our fleet vehicles that was not worked very hard. Used to shuttle engineers and geologists around job sites.
The clutch could be replaced, but it drives and shifts fine. Got it for a good price and since I knew it was maintained well, I thought I might make some money on it.

Its a 97 F150 XL. Extended cab, short box, 4x4, 4.6 w/ 5-speed. Nice fiber glass matching topper. 125,000 miles

Little bugger runs and drives nice, but I am wondering if a guy can make more money parting it out? Or would that be to much work and clean it up an throw it in the paper?

my $0.02 - it would be a shame to part out a decent running truck... however, by the time you sold every part of it - you'd probably make more on it (if you got average prices for the parts)

The problem with parting a vehicle out is that you end up with something that is unusable for a very long time. If the truck was not in good running condition and was not worth fixing, then part it out.

With your situation, fix the clutch and sell it for a good profit.

That is the way I am leaning. The clutch works, just has very little travel for engagment and no real feel. May sell it w/o fixing it.

Yeah in my opinion why part it out when there is only a clutch needing replaced replace it sell it or drive it but parting out would be a shame or you could sell it w/o fixing it too...
