Health Update
As some of you know I have been sick the last few months - I picked up some sort of flu bug while touring Nevada last October and came home sick. The bug is long gone, but it kicked up some pre-existing conditions that caused me major liver problems.
I was in San Francisco yesterday for the results of my tests - while there are still lots of hoops to jump through, they have started me in their transplant program. You have to be healthy enough to live through the surgery, yet sick enough to justify it. Right now I am nigher - not a good candidate for the procedure healthwise, nor sick enough to require it. But that will change.
Mostly there has been an immediate and drastic change in diet, plus lots of medication. I am turning into a health nut, eating nothing but wholesome grasses and fruits. I get 4 oz of fat-free meat a day - if I have one egg in the morning my daily ration of protein is used up. I swear, I get to drive by a fast food joint twice a week, but only to smell their menu.
Chickens do come home to roost - and I am a flower child of the late 60s/early 70s. We had such a fun decade it is only fair we pay for it now. But this is one bill I would just as soon avoid.
The only actual work I do as Chapter Leader is to process the new applications - (I approve of everybody) - it takes about 30 seconds a day. I will try to set it up so Dan can also do this, if needed.
The other part, that of acting as a cheerleader and promoting chapter activities and meetings, you guys will have to do yourself.
I will continue as chapter leader until someone else wants the job - anyone interested?
