I've got somekind of liquid in the front of the valley pan right behind what i'm guessing is the fuel pump. It is clear with maybe a redish tint to it. It doesn't smell like diesel though. Any ideas? Could it be anything serious? The truck is new to me and runs, starts great.
IT could be oil. The box on the very front of the engine is HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump) The fuel pump is deep down in the valley about midway. The decoative cover needs to be removed for further inspection. Clean the engine valley really good, use a long screwdriver and shop towels to mop up all the liquid. Restart the truck and look for leaks. You may need mirrors and lots of light. Let us know what you find and come back here for more info.
BTW: the engine valley should be totally dry to be normal.
the fuel lines are Known to crack too. Its really hard to tell, but take a good look at the blue lines right behind the fuel bowl. There are 2 or 3 down deep, so you really have to look hard. There is a total of about 5. It 's really hard to tell the difference in smell between your fuel and oil. If you have to replace the lines . Make sure you purchase them from the dealer. They are specific lines for handling the fuel.
I cleaned it up it Barely got the papertowel wet. So far nothing dripping. I guess it looked worse than it was. I'll keep a check on it but I don't think it is anything to worry about.
