High Idle - Need Help.

I am new to this form and it looks great. I hope you guys can help me out.

When I am at a stop the Exp. revs up to around 1k RPM. When in Neutral it revs to sometimes over 2K RPM. I was thinking vaccuum but I am not sure. I tried searching the forums but I did not really find anything. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Sounds to me that your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is the culprit. Do a search on that and see if you can find similar problems that members have had. Most likely needs replacing. Not sure on your year or engine type, but they start around $50.
Good luck

Thanks. I did read a couple of threads on the IAC previous to this post but I was not confident that was the solution. I will give it a try regardless and see how it goes. Thanks for responding. If anyone has any other input I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again.

The most likely cuase, all things considered, is the vacuum leak at the PCV elbow. I thought and others can reinforce or refute, that when an IAC fails, the idle drops and the motor wants to turn off.
