Fuel pressure regulator

Has anybody upgraded the fuel pressure regulator? If so, which one mounts to stock that is adjustable? Has anybody mounted a gauge to the purge nozzle on the fuel rail?

This is on a 93' 351W.

Fuel pressure regulator

I need to increese the fuel pressure to compensate for the lean top end. My cylinder heads are far from stock and need more fuel. I wanted to put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail and be able to adjust the fuel pressure.

The FPR (fuel pressure regulator) would a mailfunctioning FPR produce exhaust gas smell?
Is this something that has a shelf life? That is, replace when broke or do a preventiver
