Does any one know what is considered to be low or weak pressure reaidng from the Inj Prs Crtl? I thought ~1500 psi at idle is ok? I want to know how to see if the hpop is weak.
Not sure what we are reading at now, I have to check the scanner again. I just wanted to know before I did what normal reading is. I think the hpop is weak. Got a 1211 code. but we rebuilt the IPR and just recently swapped out th hpop. (it was a used one). But before we put it in we couldn't start at all. Since the "new" hpop it has been running fine until a few days ago when going uphill the check engine light came on and then it stalled. Really hard to restart after - usually pull start. I'm thinking the new hpop was weak or something. Will scan again to see if I can get a pressure reading.
signguys my truck idles with about 5-600 psi. What pressures are you seeing? still having issues? let me knwo and we'll see if we can get this sorted out! can't leave you hanging now after getting that truck running!
We rebuilt another IPR and put in the orig ICP. We also fixed the wiring to the IPR. Now we just got a 476 code. It is running much better. No more check engine light and it isn't stalling out. The 1211 code is gone. Now just the 476.
Did you clear all the codes. P0476 may be left over from your previous repair. The engine will run rough with air in the HPO system. Drive the truck for ~5-10 miles to purge the it.
PO476 is just a code for the exhuast backpressure valve. could be a plugged sensor, plugged tube or disconnected connector that is bolted to the intake side of the turbo right under the air filter tubing where it goes to the turbo.
the exhuast backpressure sensor is right behind the high pressure oil pump reservior toward the drivers side and has a metal tube on the bottom of it that goes to the passenger side exhuast manifold.
If I were you I wouldn't worry about the 476 code as it affect nothing other than the valve in the exhuast. if the vavle comes on excessively you can just unplug the connector on the the turbo and forget about it all together.
after all this you guys are pro's with the HPOP and the IPR!! keep us posted
Thanks, I love coming back on this site and talking to others about our experience. Perhaps I can be of help to others too! Everythimg seems to be running fine now, we'll keep you posted.
