Hey all,
Just added the passenger side airbag off switch to my 07 250 PSD CC. It was about as easy as it gets. Plug and play. However, no matter what switch position you are in (on or off) the airbag light on the instrument cluster goes into a flash mode. 2 flashes then 5 flashes. It does this five times then it stays on. I haven't had a chance to speak with my dealer to see if this can be reset. Does any one have any info on this?
Curious if anyone knows if 250HUV got this one resolved. Getting ready to do the same mod.... 4 kids under the age of 7 and the truck is our second vehicle.
I'm not much of a tech guru, but I know some companies don't like you doing things to their products. If for some reason your ford dealership is like that, I would suggest taking it to either auto zone or similar and have them check your on board computer. Normally they can pull something off there that can help.
Geez, taking a new truck to AutoZone for diagnostic help makes about as much sense as going to the corner bar for help with your heart attack. They're parts sellers, not diagnosticians. They cannot read fault codes for ANY of the supplemental systems as they use simple, consumer grade basic scanners.
That said, Lamp Fault Code (LFC) 25 indicates the RCM (Restraints Control Module) is having a problem with the PAD switch. If the vehicle was not built with a PAD assembly, it most likely either does not have the correct wiring harness or RCM to support the addition of one.
Thanks guys.... they actually have different RCMs or just different programming. Would imagine the programing is different and the local dealer might be able to reset. Will give it a shot... I have to do something.
Wanted to follow-up on this.... dealer just needed to recalibrate the RCM. Ultra easy and only took 10 minute. The switch is essentially plug and play. Now I can have the whole family in the truck and safe....(4 kids below the age of 6 makes it tuff on us truck guys).
