Bevis how fast were you going? Do you still got that one on?
I dont have one personally.. But I've seen some damage caused by one.. I have a buddy who has a full replacement, he had it welded as well to increase the strength...
Those things can tear up.. Even at 65mph hitting a small car could really destroy it and possibly kill someone..
They destroy deers as well lol.. I watched a friend hit a deer that ran out infront of him.. Wasn't anything left..
What parts did he have welded? The only reason why im asking is because its $1,300 and if it is not as strong as it should be im not gonig to spend the money on it.
Does anybody else have stories about this type of brushguard?
How well does ranch hold up compared to models like road armor?
on all the vehicles that ive owned ( 4 ) i have had all with the ranch hand replacement bumpers, and all have help up till the day i sold the vehicle..... I also have had all of them welded to the frame as well after the install, just my preference.... there costly but well worth the investment.........
I don’t have the complete front replacement Ranch Hand bumper. I have the Ranch Hand grille guard. The grille guard is very solid and performed well when I slid on some ice into a Dodge Durango. The Durango was towed away by a wrecker and my grille guard was scratched with a minor damage. It was a quick fix at the local dealer and I was on my way. I know several people with the front replacement bumper and it is built very well and will provide you with maximum protection. It is very heavy but with heavy comes some serious protection. A deer...Chevy....shopping cart whatever you get the picture. I couldn’t recommend a better product.
The damage was just to the brush guard and some off road lights. The coating on the guard is thick and took a beating. The build quality and materials are solid and offer a lot of coverage with the design. It is the toughest brush guard available. I shopped and asked lots of questions before making a purchase. There are some great products out there that look great but they do just that. If you want a quality product you can count on go Ranch Hand. The replacement bumper is usually installed with a forklift so that tells you a lot about the amount of protection it would provide.
I have the full front replacement and man, let me tell you, it is indestructible IMO. I had pulverized a deer and ran off the road hitting a 14" solid post at about 55mph. Didn't even dent it or buckle it. Of course the underneath of my truck reaped the damage since I went completely over it, but the bumpers are sturdy for sure.
