In my experience if you are using a good grade of diesel engine oil in your truck it will be clean inside. At a previous job we had chev gasser pickups with 200k on them that ran the same delo 400 30 wt or penzoil longlife 30wt as the diesels, I personally tore them down for rebuild and there was no buildup inside.
Old car experience, I used to put a quart of atf in the oil ,run it a while and it would really bring the crud with it. Also good for sticky lifters.
If you want magic for cleaning lifters and such 6 ounces of essentialube in the oil will keep the deposits from accumulating, stuff is incredible.
Use stanadyne additive in the fuel, cant go wrong. My pump shop said if everyone used it they would have a lot less business, and they still sell it. LOL

Not sure if I am sold on this whole ATF thing. Running synthetic I really am not worried about goo. I guess I would try it in something that was not my primary ride with a spare engine ready to drop in.
