i have a 97 F-250HD,351W,E4OD,2WD,XLT.well on my way to my sis house,my ignition coil to dist burned in half,i fixed the wire and went on my way but the trany started to shift hard.about 100 miles later the truck started to lose power.
then over the course of 30 miles the truck graduly lost all power and died.if i let it set for 30 minuts it would start back up but wouldnt rev over 2000rpm.it would run for 5-10 min then die.now it wont start unles i floor the throttle,then it starts revs up to 1200 and stalls.it has new injectors,ecm,plugs,wires,cap,rotor,fuel filter.any input i can get would be great.

Replace the resistance wire that burnt or put in two Chrysler Ballast 0.5-Ohm resistors wired in series in place of the wire.
You can get them at any Auto Parts store.
It takes special connectors used for high temperatures available from appliance repair shops. They use them for wire connections to heating elements.
The standard crimp connections found in auto stores will not last long with the heat exposure in these connections.
Do NOT install it under the dash. Install the resistor under the hood on the firewall, and then run the wires to them there. This will provide airflow and keep the resistor cooler, and possibly prevent an under dash fire.
