Hey

Correct me if i am wrong, But having the stronger Booster and master Cylinder will actually provide the opposite of what you are looking for. It is giving more pressure, but it is bottlenecked by using the same brakelines. If you were to replace the brakelines, this would show a noticable difference, Otherwise the stock one should work just as well.

I probably sound like a Complete idiot, But it was worth a shot

actually the f350 conversion
has been done sucessfully on 78-79 bronco's
with great results.
i was just wondering if it would work on 81 as well.
thanks.

You'll find that most of the F150's / 250's / 350's of '80 thru '86 shared the same m/c, with different boosters. Some of the heavier F350's had m/c's with larger diameter bores. While these (with the proper booster) should bolt up to the Bronco, you may be downgrading your truck if you don't swap the calipers and lines, as the previous poster mentioned. Read the tech article in the FTE web site that references the '78 - '79 swap thoroughly. Per the write up, the larger bore diameter (with all other components staying the same) will ease the pedal effort, making the brakes "feel" better, but will actually result in lower line pressure, and thus less clamping force at the calipers / pads / rotors. I spent 30 to 45 mins. comparing specs in the Raybestos catalog, determined that a heavier (F250 or F350) m/c and booster would be an easy and better upgrade for my truck. There must be something to the smaller bore diameter issue, as most of the trucks (except the heaviest 250's and 350's) used the same m/c as the Bronco and F150. I left the issue alone and stayed with the factory recommended unit, as I do not intend to swap out calipers and lines. I realize the article is written to show the swap as an upgrade for the '78 - '79..... maybe it is. Considering the physics explained in it, though, and researching what Ford put on the '80 thru '86 pickups and Bronco's (specifications), I comfortably chose to forego any changes to mine.
