When do I remove tape?

Hey,
I just painted the second color on my ford (acrylic enamel). I was wondering when to remove the masking? Is there anything special to do or just peel it off?
Thanks, Mike

Usually I'll remove the tape just before the paint is completely dry, it's a bit difficult to explain just when, just something I've learned over the years. If you wait until it's completely dry and you didn't use fineline for the edges, sometimes it has a tendency to try and peel back. Granted, it doesn't happen that often but I've found if you catch it before it's completely cured out it tends not to do it at all.

When removing the tape, don't just grab ahold and keep pulling, try pulling a few inches at a time, if you pull it like you yank a bandaid and it catches an edge, you can wind up removing more than the tape. lol Rule of thumb, take your time taking it off, just like you took the time to apply it properly in the first place.. And btw,, good luck, wanna see it once it's done.

Ya agreed with with above. If you remove it too soon, the paint might sag below the tape line.

I also want to see pics.

Pull the tape away from the paint line, not parallel with it so it doesnt peel.
