1972 302 electric choke question
Okay i have a 1972 302 standard two barrel carb. Right now the heat tube choke is brain dead. Can i just get the electric choke cap and stick it on? Like this one http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=274&ptset=A? And then what is the difference in a 72 electric choke cap, and a 73? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GPS&mfrpartnumber=77913 12&parttype=274&ptset=A? Any pointers on this guys!! will changing the caps work?

Go to the parts store - don't order the choke online first of all...
There are numbers in the carb that need to match the choke, you'll find them somewhere on the top or side in a little metal tag. Write them down and take them to the parts store and they will get you the correct choke for your 302. Just slapping a choke on a carb that doesn't necessarily fit the application will only cause you more headaches.

Buying a new electic choke will prolly not get you the choke (stove) tube. They come separate.
Most auto parts stores sell a choke stove tube repair kit. It's composed of the tube, insulator and nut/ferrule(s).
