Engine swap, 351 mod to 460
I have a 460 out of a 1974 Mercury Marquis and I want to put it in a 1980 Ford F-250 4x4 that presently has a 351 mod in it. Will the engine go into the truck without major modifications and will the transmission (C6) hold up to the extra power. The 460 is about 3 inches longer than the 351 so will that cause clearance problems with the radiator? Has anyone done this type of swap and knows how many problems will crop up, such as exhaust fit, wiring problems, linkage problems etc. Is there any place to get this information?

This is the place for the information you need.
Your 351M (Not 351 MOD) and 460 share the same bellhousing bolt pattern but they didn't put 460's into 4x4's until 83.
so that is where you are going to have to get all the proper bracketry from .
preferably from a donor truck.
E-series vans have the special motor mounts and oil pan you will need.
4x4's also required UPPER bracketry for alternator,etc.
