2003 expedition - Rust problem
I have a 2003 expedition. Low miles - 28K. Purchased Nov 02. Live in chicago area and vehicle garage kept.
The front of the hood has some considerable rust developing. The paint is bubbling up along the front edge of the hood. Almost looks like the paint didn't adhere well because surface prep wasn't good.
Can anyone tell me what the factory warranty for paint is? When I asked the dealer last time I was there for other reasons they said the standard 3 yrs. I found out some things are covered for 5 but don't know what they are so I'm wondering if paint might be one of them.
Anyone else having rust problems already? I thought that these days the paint should be good for twice as long.
The dealer said it did look peculiar and gave me the ford customer service number so I filed the complaint but now they want me to go back to the dealer for a quote and that dealer is an hour away and it seems like they are wasting my time.
