351m or 351w

I recently bought a 1978 Bronco. Originally these came with 351m or a 400m. The guy I bought this off of said that it has already gone through many engines before him and he was not sure if it is a 351m or a 351w. If some one could please tell me how to find out, it would be greatly app. I took the heads and intake off because motor is blown and the number inside the engine reads: 351wcp15. Please help

351m or 351w

the 351w has 6 valve cover bolts while the 351m has 8

351m or 351w

Another way to confirm this is to check and see if the thermostat housing is mounted on the intake manifold (this will most likely make it a 351W)

if the thermostat housing is mounted out front on the block....then most likely it is an engine related to the cleveland powerplants...
351M etc...
