Trans Temp Gage Spike
'03 Excursion Limited 6.0L TD
Driving into work today, the Trans Temp gage spike from Normal all the way to red in a matter of seconds. Thought it was an anomaly so I tested it at noon. Same thing – after 15 minutes of off-highway driving, it just spiked. Not a gradual increase, but immediate which leads me to believe it’s the sensor and not the tranny temp. The truck continues to shift normally and I've noticed no difference in performance.
I've got an appt. for tomorrow AM, but I'd like some additional info if possible. Any thoughts?
