trans issue
Hey guys. I have a friend of mine that just bought a 98 f-150 4x4 pickup. It is an e40d with a 4.6. The problem is that it shifts too soon and lugs the motor in town. I goes through all the gears before it hits 20 mph. It doesn't matter how he drives it either and it is not temp related, It will do it cold or hot and only does it once in a while (about every second or third time he drives it). Any thoughts?

yes
have it checked out by a good local to you trans shop. why it dose this there are many reasons with many that might be wrong not being able to drive the truck.
you do need a proper shop check out and code scan check done first before any thing else is tried
