Electronic Throttle Control

My question is I have a 2005 F-150 has I was driving home today my truck started jumping and jerking and then a dash light indicator came on, so I check with my manual that came with my truck and it said have the Electronic Throttle control checked. What is this and how hard is it to fix?

Welcome to FTE E Cook. Is the truck still under warranty? Even if it isn't, I would let a qualified professional Ford Tech look at it. Seeing as the throttle is 100% disconnected on these trucks, no way I would mess with it. It is a safety measure, and I am not sure a "shadetree mechanic" (for the lack of a better term) could even fix this. Good luck.

It is still under warranty, I was just wondering how long it would take a dealership to fix it, is it a lengthy thing to fix, this is my only transportation to work. I was just wondering about the time. and what does the Electronic Throttle control do.
