well, i finally got my very own 51, she is pretty rough but she is mine. i have to tow it home then the fun begins. i hope to be driving in her in 3-4 years. no motor so i am going to do body work first , then motor and trans. possibly 460. pictures soon.
Congratulations, I bought my 51F1 in 2003 and now it's my daily (only) driver. I'm still running the orginal Flathead 226 6 cylinder engine. I thought the engine was bad but I managed to get it started and it's running like a top now. Good Luck
Congrats on the new ride. Good luck on the build. 3-4 years build huh? You've evidently got more time to work on the truck than I do. I thought when I bought mine, well it'll take a year or two, that was almost 4 years ago and counting. I hope to drive it this summer.
Keep us posted on the progress.
no , its not that one, it is in a little worse shape. but i might get that one too, my batteries died in my camera ,so i hope to go get pics today and post them. i want a flathead but will use what is most cost effective. except for a C#$%y . the guy i got it from has a 350 he was going to put in, i had to refuse the offer.
I just bought my 51 F1 last month. If you can find a flathead a GOOD one I would go with that. There's no sound like a flathead anywhere. Don't forget the picks. Scott
