Does anyone know of anywhere to buy an early '99 windshield for a relatively cheap price? Are there any places online, or should I try to find one in a junkyard? Mine just cracked today due to the cold. Thanks in advance.
Safelite installs them for $150. I have gotten a few windshields from them and they are ok. Any autoglass place should be able to get you one. Call around and get some pricing. I called a local stealer and it was $225 installed.
These windshields are glued in. Most junk yards can't or won't get one out without breaking it. Even if they did it could be pre-stressed and the same thing will happen again. Get a good auto glass company to install it, it's really not a DIY'er project.
I agree with Cuda Jim on that I used to change windshields my self all the time but with the way they are installed now it is just to tough . Most of the the time they come to you and install it on the spot.
I got mine installed locally for about $200. It's a Carlite windshield, so it has the "Super Duty" in the middle at the top. Found a local installer by checking online for a Carlite installer.
call your insurance. if you have full coverage then windshields are covered. i have a 250 deductable on my truck but for broken glass it was only $50. i broke 2 windows in the last six months and it was only 50 each time. its worth a shot
I just talked to my insurance company and I have a $0 deductible on any auto glass. I am getting a new windshield installed tomorrow morning. Thanks again for everyones help.

Be very careful on the company you have to replace your windshield, The installer at the glass shop i work at, has shown me some of the short cut other shops have done, Like when they cut the windshield out they scratch the pinch weld and don't re-prime it and that is where the rust will start, and in do time the rust can brake the windshield and cause a leak inside the cab. And there are urethane's and primers that should be used to do a quality job, Then the type of glass they use, most of them use Chinese windshield that they pay $ 50.00 for, compared to the OEM they should be using, and came in the truck. There is a difference in the quality and fit.
A lot of the chain auto glass shop are more worried about quantity instead of quality. $ 285.00 to $ 300.00 is a fair price if they use OEM parts.
