horrendous idle
Upon firing up "the red dragon", idle tends to be fine.... an average of 2 minutes goes by before the symptoms show (sometimes the symptoms are there instantly)... JERKY idle... vroom.... vroom.... vroom... exhaust comes out in seperate puffs as the engine fires erradically. It used to be 100% once it warmed up a tad...but now it seems to be the norm. Driving down the highway at around 100km/h will result in the odd (somewhat violent) jerk of what i believe is the engine, its poor idle and border-line stall... I've read about the IAC on the forum here and believe i will start by replacing this... i will also replace the air filter, plugs and wires, fuel filter, and change out the oil and oil filter for good measure.
Anyone's input would be much appreciated here... this is a horror story since a cab ride to work costs around 40 dollars....

Does the check engine light come on? If so, get the codes checked and reply here with the diagnostic code numbers, no descriptions.
While a good tune up is not a bad idea, (for best results stick with Motorcraft parts) wholesale changing of parts most often does not fix a problem. There are lots of good people here that are willing to help.
