So.. I got a bud at school that has an 05 Chevy 2500 Duramax.. Everytime people ask about our diesels (We're the only ones with em).. He chimes in with how amazing his truck is.. Blah.. I call bullcrap period..
Sooo last night we pulled out of the school parking lot and I flagged him over to the other lane on my left.. We were rolling about 5mph and I yelled stomp it.. Now his truck NEVER smokes.. This damn thing was smoking so much.. I left him, he couldn't catch me.. Anyhoo.. He called me on his phone saying he didn't have it all the way down.. I say bullcrap again.. I'm not that stupid when it comes to diesels.. If he doesn't smoke period, when do you think he'll smoke? When he's stomping that thing trying to get it to move.. I told him he was full of cowdun and he just needs to face the music that my Stroke is helluva lot stronger then his Maxipad..
I think he gets pissed when folks tell him my truck looks better.. Course mine is "Factory" lifted and doesnt look like a damn F150.. Never understand why Chevy didn't redesign their HD Diesel's like Ford did..
That reminds me of my street racing days many moons ago. The Ford and Dodge guys all got along, some of the chebbie guys were cool. But there were invariably some camaro, nova or chevelle guys that had endless excuses when they had to hand over 50 bucks because their doors got blown off.
"My plugs are bad" "My Holley needs rebuilding" "The moon is waxing gibbous"
Maybe, just maybe, my Mustang was faster this time?!?!
Call him out again Corporal and give him a proper whooppin'!!
I'd never even consider trading, but unfortunately the Duramaxs do have the power to steam by us usually... That's about the only thing they have going for them. Stock to stock I'm talking about. Then again. Cars usually are faster than trucks aren't they?.?.?
I have Chevy people that always say they pass everything on the road and nothing will touch them,so I took there trucks on this run I have about 1/4 mile long 3 Duramax's 02, 03 and an 05 all 3 were slower than my 04 6.0 and my aunts 05 6.0 and every test I have read say's the same thing.
It's all about who's got what parts. The maxipad guys have more parts out there to build higher HP trucks right now, but times they is a changin'
no matter how much money and parts are put in a piece o' bowtie crapbox, it will never be anything that makes me look twice. no matter how or what you do to it, crap will always be crap, untill the street sweeper comes lol
I blew by a one of those duramaxs a few weeks ago that thought he was hot stuff. I actually had to slow down in order for him to keep up. He wasn't too thrilled about that I could tell even with the tinted windows.
CorporalStorm: If you really want a laugh, have your friend hook up that designed-to-overheat LLY of his to something heavy in summer and watch him puke coolant all over...! LLY: a serious test of what "engineered to be professional grade" actually means (to GM)

If you dip A turd in chocolate when you bite in, it's still a turd
If you dip A turd in chocolate when you bite in, it's still a turd
That's funny stuff rite thar I don't give a darn what any wun sez
Bowtiehatr has ridden in my Ford and he KNOWS how fast it is--trust me. There's NO comparison between the chevy frame and the ford frame. The chevy's remind me of the old dodges when they first came out with the crummins and they were twisting like pretzels. However....the duramaxes are very fast--don't be fooled. Just because you haven't run across a well tuned one be prepared--they are out there and they ARE fast and it takes much less to make them that way than a dodge. I saw a video done this week of one that dynoed 1004hp on #2 only and guess what??? It puked.
