Will be interesting to see how he keeps the rear end stuck down though...950 lbs over the front axle, 550 horsepower...it's going to unstick in a heartbeat.
Link didn't work for me. Is this the Mustang with the Sherman Tank engine? If so, I wonder how fast he can spin it with a 5+ inch bore and a 6 inch stroke. He says someone is getting 5000 rpm out of one. I have to imagine that's close to the limit with that stroke length. The piston speeds would be incredible.
Yes, the very same. The probably removed it because of the heavy traffic it received. I got it off of Fark, also a heavily trafficked site. Their server probably nearly had a meltdown.
Reminds me of the guy who put a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine in a custom chassis. For those not familiar with the engine, it's the 27-litre (~1650ci) V-12 that powered legends like the British Spitfire, and a Packard License-built version went into the P-51 Mustang.
I've also seen a video of another Merlin sitting on an engine stand in some dude's garage. He starts it up right there, has flames a foot long at least coming out of the exhaust ports. He had some projects sitting around there, too...I rose my eyebrows when I noticed that, it seemed an awful lot like he wanted to jam that motor in one of them.
It should be a fun ride to say the least. You can't really it see in the video, but the whole car torques when the throttle is bumped. I hope to get all of the brake lines run this weekend so I can go play soon.
