1) The EGT gauge is going south, or the probe. I went WOT one day about three weeks ago and I looked up the check gauges, just in time to see the EGT gauge drop from 1250 to 0! Backed off and pulled over, idle for a few and the EGT came back to life. I have only driven the truck a couple of times until today and it did it again. No WOT, just normal driving. Any ideas before I pull the probe?
2) I have a knock...... . It sounds like the bottom end. I have not been driving the truck much, but my wife moved some horses this weekend. Others at the barn she was at said something about the sound. When she got home, I could here it.....I think. I remember here somewhere that the injectors will cause this sound. Please tell me this is so!!!!! If so what is the fix. Thanks for the replys!
I would double check the conections on your gauge. Sounds like an intermiten problem to me. Maybe bad ground or something. The #8 injector makes a knocking sound because it is starved of fuel. Bad design. It could also be your flexplate if it is an auto. They have been known to crack. I'm sure you'll get all the help you need from the guys. Lancer
P.S If your probe is broken it will have got blown out the exhaust. I highly doubt thats the prob if your gauge is still working.
