manual locking hub question

As I stated in an earlier post,I found my manual locking hub on the passenger side missing as I was attempting to lock it in. I went ahead and engaged the drivers side hub thinking that tire would still pull but it did not. Is this normal or is my drivers side hub not locking properly?

This is normal since you did not lock the passenger side (or couldn't). You have a limited slip axle and if both aren't locked in, then it's pretty much pointless for 4x4.
