FS2500 - anyone using it?

I am considering a fs2500 bypass oil filter. Has anyone purchased it and are you happy? What price range should i expect? Also, how did the install go?
Thanks

I have that one. It's pretty pricey, but I did get the optional stainless lines too. Look for a member here named Beachbumcook. The man knows more about oil and filters than I know about cooking, and I'm a chef!! He can tell you what you need & want to know and you can take his word!

ANY by-pass oil filter system is going to help your truck. The question is how much are you willing to spend?

I am open to any suggestions/recommendations. I am not looking to increase oil change durations, I want to keep the oil clean.

I currently use an Oil Guard system it includes the billet caps for the oil filter housing and oil fill spout. I did upgrade to some stainless lines (locally made) with AN- fittings to prevent any line problems. I don't run oil samples since I was convinced of the fact by-pass systems work. I generally run Rotella syntheic oil with change intervals over 10K miles. I use 16 qts since the Oil Guard housing is big enough to suck up the extra volume and not cause the "romps". I'm thinking of going to the Amsoil line with their filter for (advertised) 25k between changes. If I do this I may start some sampling routine to see if their oil is holding up.

Don't allow the FS-2500 web site video hype suck you into believing how great their filter works. All they are doing is dumping particles of (whatever it is) into the oil, the solution goes through a pump, then their filter. WOW it's clean!! That would work for any element designed for the same purpose. Why not have that video show the oil coming directly from the truck?

In short any by-pass system that will filter below 5 microns is going to help. Down to 1 micron would be great but needs to ensure the oil flow isn't blocked if the filter is full.

On Edit: I just finished talking to Amsoil. I'm not impressed with their tech line at ALL. It was explained to me that because the API oil rating doesn't allow the oil to go beyond 10k Amsoil doesn't stand up to their 25k interval they claim can be done with using their oil and filter. I was hoping to save some cash going to 25K (NOT!) so I guess I'm back to using what I can find in a quality syn oil and using the OEM filter.
