Need to know if anybody else had this problem. On a cold morning after start up when i go to take off it seems like there is no power steering until I get the truck moving. The dealer said with a truck this size it's normal (04 F-350 SC). Seems like it's just at start up. Checked all fluids and no problem there.
Thanks
hi there i have a 04 4 door long bed 6.0 and mine steers hard i have 305/70/r16 on it and that makes it worse i air my front tires up to maximum especialy in the winter and that seemes to help other than that you have to replace the pump with a better one. but while it still under ford let them do it . My powersteering pump was growling at me a few months ago, so I changed the fluid to Mobile 1 syn. Has been noise free since, also steering has improved in cold temps.
I agree. If you have never changed your power steering fluid, it's time. Try the flush with the Mobile synthetic transmission fluid. It only takes 3 quarts and it should make a big difference.

I experience that only on the real frigid mornings (like today) It seems like everything doesn't want to get moving (probably doesn't, all the fluids must be like jelly) but after it warms up nicely, she runs fine. I have never changed the steering fluid and have to think about that this spring.
