I reciently changed my master cyl. and have been losing brake pressure on long trips. On one of my last trips I took it to a shop and they said the rear brake line on the master cyl. was loose, tightened it up and it was great for a couple of days. Now I am back to loosing pressure on trips but it is firm in town. Could there still be an air bubble in the system??
I cleaned all around the master cyl. today to see if there was a leak and everything came back dry. Anyone had this problem??
What do you mean lose pressure.? What does the pedal do? You may have a bad master or air or a leak somewhere ..With air pedal will be spongy. With leak pedal will go down if you hold hard engine running..Bad master will do what you said.
Around town pedal is hard and brakes work fine. When traveling pedal has to be pumped up to be hard and to have full brakes. Checked all bleeders and they are tight and see no leaks at master cyl. fittings.
I would try bleeding again to be sure. Get a canning jar and hose. Put some fluid in the jar put hose in jar and bleed two times. Pump it up and hold it down type bleeding.
After a couple of times there should be no bubbles comming out. Do this 10 times min looking for bubbles. All four wheels starting at the right rear, left rear, rf ,lf
