Can anyone give me some tips on how to remove the interior door panels on my 1999 F250 extended cab 4X4 V10 truck? I need to inspect the electronic lock hardware because just the driver's door electronic lock is not working. I can hear it clicking, but it won't go up or down. I can unlock it with the key from the outside and pull it up and down by hand.
I've tried searching, but can't seem to find details on how to remove the panels.
Had my drivers door panel off a couple months ago, first you need to remove switch panel by prying it out. There should be a screw under it. I also think there is one around the door handle. Once the screws are out lift the panel up and it sould come off.
Remove the switch panel where the window/lock/mirror controls are..pulls off..there is a small screw there..then remove the red reflective light cover..there is another screw in there...then lift it straight up.
Once you remove the screws and are ready to remove panel, as indicated before lift up but you might also need to give the panel a quick snap as you pull up. Being too careful can require quite a bit of lift pressure. If after having given the panel a good quick lift and nothing happens check one more time for any hidden screws or clips before going at it again.
I had to get my panel off to replace my mirror, thanks for the post, that helped. BTW once those two screws were out, it slid right off with no effort.
