What trannny came with the 82 Bronco,the C4 or C5 ?
Where do you find it on the tranny itself?
It has a 351W in it.

I've never heard of a c5, but my 82 and 83 broncos have c6 trannys.
The c4 was droped in most of the 2 wheel drives and the c6 was the optional towing and 4wheel tranny. Look at your tranny oil pan and if it's square with a small square notch on it, you have the c6. No notch is the c4. I've never ran across a bronco with a c4 though.
Hope this helps.

When, and what vehicles, was a C5 used in? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's never heard of it.

Go to http://www.advanceadapters.com/index515.html and dl their free PDF catalog. In the automatics section, they mention the years & applications for the C-4, -5, & -6 and the distinguishing characteristics of each.
