hey this weekend i decided to replace my 3 of 4 burnt bulbs(i know...lol i could bearly see). they work great but now none of my gauges work. so i made sure they were all plugged in all the way (check) and i checked all my fuses (check). any ideas?
also for about 2 weeks now my rear lights dont work, samething= checked fuses but no bad fuses.
Hello sanctifie, I'll assume that you are working on a 97 f150? I think that I would double check to make sure that the primary cluster plug to the gauges is "properly" aligned and plugged in completly. Also, you might want to consider replacing that last bulb in the cluster while you have it out. Because bulbs have certain number of times that they will light as well as a given number of hours that they will stay on once they are powered up, the odds are that the fourth one is ready to burn out too. You may want to be sure that the tailight bulbs are good. And check for power at the sockets to see if you are getting any. Remember to replace any bulbs that work together in pairs or in sets (such as your cluster bulbs, tailights and headlights) at the same time. It may be that one of your tail light bulbs blew out one day and the other blew out a couple of days later. I had a case that I was working on a tailgate release latch and after closing it hard a few times I noticed then that I had no tail lights that night. The shock of closing the tailgate broke both of filiments of both tail lights. I thought that it was a wire or fuse too. A hard bump when the lights are off can and will break the filiments in any bulb. Let us know what you find...Joe
yeah its the 97 f150, and i am gonna replace the last bulb this weekend as well as check the tale light bulbs. i have slammed it hard cuz sometimes it wont catch when closing the tale gate so i am guessing that would be a good reason to the lights not working. although the one thing i did do i check the harness in the back of the instrument cluster and all 3 are plugged in properly, so that one beats me.
