Message Center 05 EXPy
Can someone please take a picture of their message center on their 05 expy. I don't have one in my vehicle and I'm wondering if it is something that I can get installed on my vehicle.
So what I want to know is if it displays on the speedometer or if it actually displays the information on the message center somehow?

I've got an '06...if it's the same you'll have to replace the instrument cluster and the trim piece that covers the cluster. There are three buttons on that trim-overlay that contol the message center.

I understand that I have to replace that three button piece, but then were does the message center information show up? On the speedometer? Do I have to also replace that? Cause the buttons are only $55 at my local Ford Dealer, but I don't know if they will do me any good or if I have to get another part also?

Mine shows up in the same window as the odometer. Instead of the odometer being a single line it displays two lines of info with the odometer reading always being on the bottom. If you pull up the owners manual it has pictures there.

I doubt it. The instrument cluster is one complete unit, so you'd have to buy a whole new one with the message center. Then you'll need to confirm that it uses the same wiring harnesses and gets the same info from the computer.

The three button switch won't do anything without the instrument cluster with the message center. I got the three button switch off ebay for 5 or 6 dollars , the only thing it does w/o the message center is light up at night. I wish I get the instrument cluster with m/c at a reasonable price, but I'll wait until I put in my HID pnp. I hope this answer your question.

Well you did answer my question, I had already bought the new switch before I got an answer t hough. Sucks to be me. But I just got around to installing it today, just as you said it doesn't work. I just check the junk yard and they have one with the Message center for $85. Well I guess my $60 upgrade just turned into $145

Ok guys this will never stop it appears. So I purchased a new speedometer with Message Center, but now I have another problem after I just installed the speedometer (10 minutes ago).
This speedometer is showing the mileage of the car it was on previously, (25,000 miles) whereas mine has a lot more than this. How do I get it to update to what it should really be at? Also it doesn't appear to be responding to the buttons on the Message Center. Also it seems that the compass isn't calibrated to my area, nor is the temperature right. I figure this may be a problem because I decided that I wanted to be stupid and changed out the speedometer without disconnecting the battery? Could that be the case will it reset to normal? I don't want to do it because then I have to reset my clock and all my presets but I will if it will get this working right? Anyone know if the problem is that I have to have it programmed for my car? Any help would be appreciated.
