Help dunno what happend...

Today was driving home from work noticed nothin out of the usual but as im about a half mile from my apt. i noticed my truck doesnt wanna downshift (95 4x4) so im drivin sittin at 3k. Notice this all of a sudden and think thats kinda odd.. Pull into my apts stop to check the mail turn truck off get mail notice a strange slight burning smell.. (oily or rubbery kinda) look under the hood smell is a lil stronger dont see anything abnormal other than the coolant that sprayed the engine compartment earlier when i was tryin to get air bubbles out. close hood get in starts up fine shift to D foot on gas just revs... hmmm shift back to park turn off turn on shift to d try again same thing.. try 2,1, 4x4 high nothin is helpin... So i give the truck a nudge (thankfully i was on a slope) coast into a spot.. notice somethin dripping right behind the front wheels dont know if its oil or tranny fluid.. all i know is this cant be good... and it was 2 deg out but the exhuast shouldnt have been smokin cause it was plenty warm enough to stop.. any ideas guys?

sounds like you may have developed a tranny leak, and lost enough fluid so that the TC can't work and the trans will not operate when low on fluid. Unfortunately you are going to have to climb under the truck and figure out where it's possibly coming from.
