My 96 Bronco is showing obvious fading on the (vinyl)? top. Any suggestions on how to stop the fading or what to use as a protectorant ?

AFAIK it's fibreglass ... I use normal paint and surface prep, I know othere who have used brush on bed liners with good results.

It's fiberglass with special flat spatter paint.

If it's already faded, your best bet is to get it re-painted. Don't try to use a wax on it. You'll never get it all off, and the whole thing will have a white glaze. Looks worse than just being faded. My Dad had the top on his '88 painted. Looked awesome. Plus, with the glossy paint, he could wax it and keep it looking good.

Fiberglass! yes, that's what it is! So... painting is the way to go. I'm sure a special fiberglass paint is made with matching paint code for original look? Or is this gonna be a hit or miss type of thing? Moe than likely a spray job?

Professional spray job is the only way to go. Saw one where the guy tried to paint it with a brush. It was the worst looking thing I have ever seen.
