Just an update... I got the old stud out by threading what was left of the stud and stacking a bunch of washers around it and backing it out. The stud that came out had been drilled and pined already. That leaves me to belive that was atleast the third stud to go in that hole. instead of drilling the new stud I used a little high temp locktite. Now I know what your thinking and it was the samething I was but I have driven over 200 miles and have had no problems with it backing out yet. Hopefully it will continue on its path of greatness and not leave me on the side of the road again.
(P.S. she has never really left me there. I know enough to get myself out of most trouble. problem is I don't know enough so I end up getting into more trouble. The whole relationship between me and my truck has made me a better mechanic all together. By the way I couldn't have done it with out all your help.
