I have an AOD out of about a 88-90 Crown Vic (supposedly a cop car). This is going behind a carbed 351 and into a 71 F100 - if that matters at all. I am looking for the torque values for the flexplate to the engine, and for the torque converter.
FWIW, I got a flexplate and starter from a 351/AOD for a 88 F150.
The AOD was never behind a 351W. The Windsor didn't get an OD transmission until the E4OD (that I know of) because, well, the AOD isn't strong enough in stock form to take the abuse of a lil' lightweight Mustang with a smaller engine, let alone a truck with a Windsor.
Anyway, make sure you've got a flexplate that will work was what I was gettin' at.
Also, what kind of linkage are you going to use for the TV setup? You'll want to make sure it's adjusted properly before going anywhere as you can fry an AOD in 12 miles with a TV linkage that's not right. We tried it once, AOD was DOA in just about 12 miles.
Sorry, I digress. If no one's answered by the time I get home tonight I'll whip out the manual and get those torque specs.
