Hello everyone. I am looking to replace all of my front ball joints on my 99 250 PSD. I am in the process of buying a house so I am looking for a middle priced product. I found McQuay-Norrisball joints on Ebay 109 per side. Does anyone have an opinion on this price? Anyone have a better source? Thanks, Rich
Just get the Moog Greasable ones and be done with it. I think there was a deal awhile back from one of the sponsors... It was like $230 for everything you needed. Maybe another member can post a link to the Moog's. I can't seem to find it. You get what you pay for... especially on ebay.
You really should replace the all the seals, like comes in that nice kit from PowerStrokeShop that pfb listed.
But to answer your question, that ebay price is no bargain. Even if you went to your local NAPA, you could get their premium line balljoints for about $80 per side.
If I saw correctly its 240 per side. Thats 480 for both. Im in the proccess of buying a house so Ide rather not spend 500 bucks if I may only keep the truck for a year or so.
Great thanks, Im about to order. BTW what does everyone recommend for rotors. My Frt Pass is badly warped and needs to be replaced, im guessing its better to replace both? And which type should I get? Pads are fairly new.
I just put the kit from Powerstrokeshop in my 2000. Only problem is that their kit doesn't include the o-ring for the 4x4 hub, which you should replace whenever your remove the hub. Not a real big deal because it takes all of 1 minute to pull the hub again, but it would have been nice to have that seal.
As far as brakes, do you want to go cheap or do you want to get brakes that'll last forever? I spent the extra $$ for appliedrotortechnology cryo treated/slotted rotors and performance pads because the stock Ford crap warps if you look at it funny. No regrets with those ART rotors.
