I have a fuel leak from the top end. It sounds like from the other forums it might be the filter drain valve o-rings. Can't seem to figure it out. Went to the local Ford dealer(I know a parts guy there) and he said on the 95's it wasn't a big problem...just in the 99-03's. His buddy had a leak at the vacuum switch on the side of the filter housing. I can't see any drips, but it is leaking It is driving me crazy. I hate to spend $ on a trial and error method. Anybody else have problems w/ fuel leaks? I have a o-ring kit coming off e-bay. I will change those and go from there> I don't knoiw what else to do................???????????????
Remove the decorative cover on the top of the engine. Clean the engine valley really good. Use a long screw driver and paper shop towels to dry it up. I used compessed air to get it spotless. Get your glasses and good lighting, start the truck and look for the leak. The fuel pump lives down low in the valley so that's the first item to go after. The FP has a weep hole that will leak if the seals went bad. Look under the turbo at the fuel lines coming out of the FP going to the rear of the cylinder heads and around the fuel filter.
If the drain lever was leaking you should see it. Open and close it a couple times. Wait till you have the orings first tho just incase that makes it worse.
