Stacks with Cat or without

About to take the leap and put stacks on my 97 psd reg cab. I am going to go with 5'' w/ a 3'' downpipe, the question is should I go with a cat or without? Is there a major sound differance and power differance either way. I want it to be as loud as posible. I think I am going to buy the stacks on ebay thats where I found them to be the cheapest. Any input would help, Thanks

Our trucks came with a CAT? Go figure. Lose it, better performance and sound.

No cat = more noise....good, No cat = less back pressure....good, what seems to be your question? I don't have stacks yet. I have a shell on my bed so I'm still thinkin' how and where to place them. I am running no cat nor a muffler. I can't exactly sneak up on some one in my truck, but I like it that way.

As long as you can pass your yearly inspections without a cat I would go without a cat.....
