Question So I recieved my Harley headlamps today...

I know a lot of users on here have put in the Harley headlamps in their trucks; is there a step by step instruction on how to do this? I tried a couple of diferrent searches, but nothing came up. I am fairly handy around the garage, but most of my work has been on my old 1995 truck. I have only had this truck (2005 FX4 Screw) for about two weeks so I haven’t had much experience under the hood as of yet.

Thanks in advance.

If not, then I guess I can try to do one myself when I replace them and post it on here.

look in the owners manual....i think it tells how to change the headlight bulbs.....partially same procedure, just replace it all...not a hard job...i took the headlights out of a lincoln navigator to put in wig wags...they had two bolts i think and maybe a tab...not hard..try it---you'll do okay

Yeah - it's in the manual. But, there are three screws holding the headlights in. One is readily visible - near the top of the headlamp - nickel color. There are two others. Peel back the flimsy splash guard towards the inside of the headlight and you'll see the other two there.

Remove those screws and work out the assembly, and remove the bulbs from the sockets, replace headlamp assembly.
Word of caution - don't touch the headlamp bulbs themselves with your fingers. The oil will cause premature failure. If you do touch them - wipe them down with rubbing alcohol to remove the oil.

where did you get your headlights? How much did you pay? I have been looking around, but they seem pretty expensive!

I purchased them off of ebay for 255 plus 20 shipping (best offer accepted). The listing is under 2006 Harley OEM They were shipped directly from a ford dealership out of CT. This is about as cheap as i could find them(give or take a couple of bucks).

pretty good price. I made an offer of $255 as well. I guess I will wait and see if he accepts. Are you getting the taillights too for $65? Thanks!

Try Ed at parts@y2kford.com, he is a sponsor and sold me mine. I can't remember what I paid, was about a year ago. I do remember it was cheaper than prices I had seen on ebay. He can get almost any OEM part you need at a very good discount.

A couple of the sponsors had the taillights cheaper than on ebay, check them out. I think I may hold off getting the taillights, there are a few other toys that I want to get before I would do the taillights.

I just got back from putting the headlamps in, I will have to say that they look great on my black truck, especially from the side.
