Mario at Orchard Ford was to give me a call when the first one arrived, I guess they'll have another one any day now.
I can confirm that there is one 2008 Regular cab, Long box SD out front of the showroom of Orchard Ford in Kelowna, BC as of 10 AM today. I'll go take a look on my coffee break.
this will sound like an echo from every other test drive experience but....
the truck is ULTRA quiet, sounds as though you are driving a gasser down the road. The interior is beautiful, the seats have much better support and will be a huge improvment on long road trips. The mirrors are a huge improvment with the larger convex, I will certainly appreciate the added visibility with the larger mirror.
We have a set of 20" rims and BFG All terrains going on tomorrow as the 18" rim just doesnt do the truck any justice. Was going to go Toyo MT's but wussed out as we felt it may make the truck a little loud on the highway.
Just got back from a test drive here in southern Ontario........2008 diesel...........one word...........INCREDIBLE.....Quieter that my 05, smoother on the pot holes, great looking dash, Everything about this truck is better. Great job Ford............Prices will be in on Friday.............Ô¿Ô
I came across one at a dealership in Whitecourt, test drove an 08 F350 psd lariat cc loaded minus dvd player. What a truck!! Quiet, great power and very comfortable. I was approved for financing, but need to let them know tomorrow if I want to take it home. I will take a loss on my 2005 lariat to the tune of $10000, but I am fed up with non-stop issues with the engine. Do you guys think it's worth the loss? Logic tells me no, but when I drive the truck, all I can think is YES!!!

YES its worth it. You will lose a lot more the longer you wait and every time you see a 2008 you will be in regretsville. Go for it, you only live once, make it worthwhile.
$5,000 to $6,000 a year is what you can expect to lose on a vehicle like this for the first 5 years. Then it slows down a little. Mileage plays a big part also. You also have to consider this is a re-designed engine...........problems...........time will tell. Ô¿Ô
I work in the oil patch, so I do put a lot of miles on my trucks. I generally rack up 50000 km per year. Even if I wait another year to "catch up" with what I owe, I will still be looking at a significant loss. I would be trading in a 2005 CC lariat 6.0 with 150,000 km and no warranty left. I'm sitting at 100,000 km right now.
I ordered my 2008 F-350 on 7 December, built on 15 January and shipped on 23 January and Ford gave me an ETA of 8 February. The truck arrived on schedule at Hallmark Ford in Surrey, BC last night. They are doing the PDI and security alarm installation today. It is planned to take delivery of my truck tomorrow. It is a 2008 F-350 Super Duty 6.4 Diesel, Lariet with super cab. It is white with Pueblo Gold Trim. It has most options except satellite radio, GPS navigation and moonroof. With the US dollar at a 19% preminium I expected to pay about 20% more for the truck in Canadian dollars. The Canadian MSRP with destination charges is $61514 with my price $56844.
I plan a 3 week trip to CA in early March with a 31 foot 5th wheel trailer. I will keep records on fuel mileage etc and share them with you when I get back.
