[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Aug-02 AT 10:12 PM (EST)]Okay, let me try to describe this. At slow speeds I can hear a clunking noise that seems to increase with wheel speed. Also, when I hit a bump at lower speeds I can hear a rattling noise. Both noises seem to be coming out of the front end, and both disappear when I push on the brake peddle. Please help, this is driving me nuts.
It's a 1979 Bronco Ranger XLT. It has 88 thousand miles on it. I am not sure if the noise goes away at certain speeds it is just easier to hear at lower speeds. Also I just replaced the brake pads and I do not remeber if the noise was there before or not. I don't think it was though. Could it be faulty calipers? I really had to lay into the caliper spreader to get the pistons back far enough to get the new pads on the rotors.
