power difference

Gave in to temptation and bought a spotless 97 ex cab 4wd, 5 speed over the weekend. I can't belive the power difference between the 5 speed and my auto! Both are 97's, the crew cab (auto, 4.10's, 116k mi ) an early 97 and the ex cab (5 speed 3.55's, 98k mi ) late 97.
I've done some mods to the crew as you can see in my sig, but I think the stock ex cab out does it. Haven't gotten the gooseneck hitch in yet to see how it does pulling but the snap.... WOW Could their be a difference in the PCM programming?

I think you are just feeling the different gear ratios. Both of your 97s are rated @225hp at the flywheel.

I had stock 97 auto 4 yars ago, and it would not even compare close to my 96 auto I have now.
NO two truck are the same. Espesially when you compare auto to manual with diffierent gears.

I don't have any pics up yet, been dark by the time I get home. I'd of figured that the 4.10's would be more snappy off the start though
