00 expy heating problems
i have a 00 expy the front or rear heat blows hot you can turn both heaters off let run for a few minutes turn the heat back on then its hot for about 20 seconds then it goes right back to warm air flushed and replaced coolant both the heater core hoses are same temp there warm but not hot any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds to me like the valve is sticking in the "almost closed" position. It is just trickling hot coolant into the core. That's why it runs hot for a few minutes, the small amount of coolant is heating up the core, then when you hit the fan, it's nice and warm. But with the fan running continuesly, the small amount of coolant isn't enough to keep the core warm. Sounds logical anyway!

i have this problem - taken water pump off for inspection ...no leaks; no noise;tight shaft movements;reinstalled. the heat control valve sounds like the culprit. BUT...where is it located... is it control by vacumn or electrical. probably the PCM !!! can anyone help with this.
